Wolfson Microelectronics introduces the myZone Digital Silence DS101A, an industry-defining stereo ear-bud headset reference solution, delivering Wolfson’s unique feed-forward Ambient Noise Cancellation (ANC) technology.
The USB rechargeable WM182 delivers world-leading noise cancelling technology at a competitive cost, this headset enables millions of people to experience Wolfson’s unique ANC technology, in a convenient portable headset.
Wolfson’s unique myZone feed-forward ANC technology results in crystal clear audio by eliminating background noise, removing the need to increase the audio volume to compensate for external noise. With headphone volume levels undergoing scrutiny currently, the Digital Silence DS101A provides an ideal solution to prevent hearing damage caused by listening to loud music for extended periods, whilst delivering HD quality sound.
Wolfson combines 25 years of semiconductor expertise with a leadership position in Ambient Noise Cancellation to deliver up to 99% noise cancellation*, the Digital Silence DS101A features an in-line control pod containing a rechargeable Lithium-ion battery, which provides around 30 hours of ANC playback; mini USB charge socket; call answer/end button; ANC on/off switch; and two colour LED status indicator for power and charge. It also features a noise sensing microphone in each ear-bud, plus a voice microphone.
*Wolfson test environment. Up to 99% noise cancellation across frequency range 60Hz – 5KHz. Peak ANC of 30dB. Greater than 20dB noise cancellation from 60Hz to 1.5KHz.

The noise cancelling performance is akin to much higher priced headphones from more well known brands. I will be keen to see what else this company bring out in the future!
