I am in Vietnam where online order for electronics is hard. I bought AKG24P via its sole agency in Hanoi and feel quite satisfied. I also have original Senn PMX60 and MX500, Sony Mdr-e391, Creative EP630 but honestly, AKG is the best for superior, balanced sound. Its headband is made of metal and you can even adjust it till you feel comfortable. I love it so much. Well done, AKG. Why don't you do your marketing better?

I prefer big loudspeakers but travel a lot on train and plane. I like complex music on acoustic instruments, with wide ranging dynamics and frequency. Not exactly optimum for the Piccadilly Line. Headphones must be light, small, cheap enough to lose, and deliver musical quality. That means impedance high enough not to be shamed by real hi-fi but low enough to reproduce mp3s without an extra amplifier. I used expensive but weak Sennheisers till I heard the AKG K24P. The frequency range swung it for me. Beyond the human ear, it captures the lowest pipes of a church organ to the harmonics of a violin E string. You hear things you never knew were there, even on mp3. The partly open back doesn’t broadcast to the world. Light enough, but I wish the springy headband didn’t catch my hair. At under £20 though, it really is the solution. Forget fashionable labels, Austrian musicality gives lasting satisfaction.
