I bought the Skullcandy Lowriders because the brand has such a fantastic reputation among skiers and snowboarders.
Without a doubt they look amazing, and I have had endless compliments for them.
However, from a practical point of view, despite the hinges that allow you to fold them away (a very useful thing when travelling), I found them less than perfect on the slopes. Due to the ways they adjust to fit different people, the Lowriders don't 'cling' as tightly to the head and don't stay in place when travelling at speed on the slopes. This also makes it near impossible to wear goggles over the top, which was one idea I had to keep them in place whilst skiing.
I was warned the sound may be slightly 'tinny' from these headphones, but it isn't in the slightest. I could not fault the quality of audio in the slightest.
The Skullcandy Lowriders are without a doubt the best value for money of all the headphones I have owned. They are ideal for those who travel frequently and the low price means it is possible to buy an additional pair of Skullcandy earbuds or Icons to use on the slopes.
